Absolutely. UrbMD health practitioners are registered in Massachusetts. Our online solution is in accordance with state telehealth laws, and we protect all of our clients' private information with storage on a HIPAA-compliant database.

What conditions qualify for medical cannabis?

Massachusetts allows medical marijuana under a list of qualifying conditions for treatment. The full list of qualifying conditions for medical marijuana in Massachusetts include specific disease processes and any other illness for which marijuana provides relief. Many of the symptoms associated with Autism may fall under the "other illness" as determined by our physician after review of records and completion of a virtual consultation.

 
Can I get a medical marijuana card at 18?

Absolutely! To get your Medical Cannabis Card you only have to be 18+. However, minors under 18 are eligible to see a medical marijuana doctor online with recommendation of their pediatrician and  parental consent and qualify for medical cannabis.

 
Where can I use my medical marijuana card near me?

Your Massachusetts medical marijuana card gives you full access to purchase cannabis CBD and THC flowers, tinctures, oils, edibles, topicals, vapes, and other product types from both medical and recreational marijuana dispensaries or delivery services throughout the state. Just bring your medical cannabis card with you to the dispensary of your choosing.

 
Do I still need a Massachusetts medical marijuana identification card (MMIC) in 2020?

Yes, you still need a state-issued MMIC to enjoy the benefits that come with being a medical cannabis patient in 2020. However, if you’d like to save even more on taxes and be granted even further protection under federal law, you’ll have to register with your local Department of Health to receive the state-issued card. Having your MMIC card also allows law enforcement officials to easily verify that you have a legitimate medical cannabis card.

 
What documents do I need to qualify?

You don’t need any documentation other than your Massachusetts state identification card, driver’s license, or U.S passport. If you have medical records that you think will help your doctor better evaluate your eligibility for medical cannabis, you may upload those during the UrbMD signup process. If applying for the state MMIC after completing your UrbMD appointment (optional), you’ll need your doctor’s recommendation, a valid government-issued I.D., a photo taken at the county’s program office, and proof of residency within your county.

 

Can I get a renewal online?

Yes, you can quickly and cheaply renew your medical marijuana card online through UrbMD for the same low price of $79.

Does Massachusetts accept out of state MMJ cards?

Unfortunately, no. While many other states have reciprocity and will accept a Massachusetts mmj card, Massachusetts does not accept medical marijuana cards from other states

What are the qualifying conditions for medical marijuana in Massachusetts?

Qualifying medical conditions in Massachusetts, as determined by State Regulations, include cancer, glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS), Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or other debilitating conditions as determined in writing by a qualifying patient’s certifying physician.
 

What should I do if my doctor won’t recommend for me?

If you’ve previously discussed medical marijuana with your doctor and you were unable to obtain a recommendation for your Autism-related debilitating symptoms, send us a message and we’ll be happy to perform a evaluate your condition and provide a consultation.

 
Are doctors required to make determinations about appropriate dosage?

No. Program rules already limit the patient's allowable supply. Dispensary staff assist patients in understanding dosage and product characteristics. The physician’s responsibility is to determine whether or not to issue the marijuana for medical use recommendation except in limited circumstances whereby a physician may determine that a patient needs more than the allowable supply.

 
I have a medical marijuana recommendation from another state. Can I use it to purchase medicine in Massachusetts?

Out-of-state medical marijuana cards are not accepted in Massachusetts, however adults age 21 and older may purchase at our Lowell dispensary beginning March 16th. 

 
How much medical marijuana are patients allowed to purchase?

Massachusetts law allows a qualifying patient to possess up to a 60-day supply of marijuana for his or her personal medical use. The regulations define a 60-day supply as up to 10 ounces.

 
How do I prove residency for medical marijuana in Massachusetts?

When applying for your Massachusetts medical marijuana card, you will need to provide proof of Massachusetts residency. You may use a Massachusetts driver’s license or Massachusetts ID, provided that the name and address listed on your card match the information included in your patient application.

If you don’t have a Massachusetts ID, you may use a U.S. passport or U.S. military ID, but you must also include one additional proof of Massachusetts residency. Any of the following items will be accepted:

  1. Utility Bill (less than 60 days old)

  2. Current MA Motor Vehicle Registration

  3. Tuition Bill (less than 60 days old)

  4. U.S. Marriage Certificate (dated within past 6 months)

  5. Property Tax or Excise Tax Bill

  6. First Class Mail from Federal or State Agency (less than 60 days old)

  7. Car Insurance Policy or Bill (less than 60 days old)

  8. Current MA-issued Professional License

  9. Mortgage, Lease, or Loan (dated within past 6 months)
